Midweek Faithfulness

Wednesday. The middle of the week. The place where the enthusiasm of Monday has faded and the relief of Friday hasn't arrived yet. It's the valley between two peaks — and it's often where faith is most tested. Not in dramatic moments of crisis, but in the quiet grind of ordinary faithfulness.

Paul's warning is telling: "Let us not become weary." He doesn't say "if you become weary." He acknowledges that weariness is a real and common experience for people who are genuinely trying to live for God. Doing good is hard. Staying faithful is hard. Showing up when no one notices is hard.

But the promise attached to this command is extraordinary: a harvest is coming. Not might be coming. Not possibly coming. Will come — at the proper time. God is not unaware of your faithfulness. He is not indifferent to your perseverance. Every act of obedience, every moment of choosing right over easy, is being recorded in eternity.

Don't quit on Wednesday. The harvest doesn't come to those who started well — it comes to those who didn't give up. Keep going. Keep doing good. Keep showing up. The proper time is coming.
